Chasing Likes

We are all of us affected.
Some infected.
Rushing hither and thither,
Trying first a cartwheel,
Then a backflip,
To see if it pleases
The masses.

Voices clamor for attention.
Advice in abundance
In the news feed,
The comment section,
Or inbox.
Try your hand at videography.
Make a big bang to draw attention.
It worked for me.

One Voice speaks softly.
Never demanding
Or pushing to be heard.
Gently reminding me
I don’t serve the masses.
Sit at His feet,
Chase true JOY,
And feel His pleasure.
