In the past twenty days . . .

In the past twenty days . . .

I haven’t done much for flood victims. Helping out with the “flood buckets” my church is providing via the Red Cross has been the extent of my mission. The initial cleanup seems to be complete, but I’m sure more help will be needed in the future as people set up new homes and try to recover from this disaster. A friend directed me to Mission Central where I may be able to find some more ways to help in the coming weeks.

So, I’ve been canning tomatoes by myself for the very first time.

We’ve been playing in the mud.

And baking a cake for a very special five-year-old.

By the way, those last three photos were taken by my sister, April, an up-and-coming photographer!
I can’t believe my baby girl is five. It seems impossible that five years have passed since we brought her home from the hospital. We had no idea what we were in for!

Your tomatoes look delicious. That's not a task I'd take on by myself. You are brave!
Camilla is so beautiful and April took fantastic photos! Am I correct in assuming that Camilla received a very special pink birthday hat? It was made for her!

Thanks Pauline! I decided I'm going to need a canning buddy next time. Camilla asked for a beret because "Fancy Nancy" wears one in her book "Aspiring Artist". The pink beret was a gift from Adrian. Doesn't he have good taste?

Mmmmm…lovely looking tomatoes! Okay…this is just too weird, but I think Rowan has the same teddy bear rocking chair I see your little miss sitting on in that last photo. And, YAY for Strawberry Shortcake! One of my fav birthday memories was my Strawberry Shortcake-themed birthday party. The pinata was a little disturbing. Just something wrong about bashing Strawberry Shortcake's face in with a baseball bat!

We had a pinata at Camilla's party! (Todd made it.) I was busy with something else at that point, so I didn't think of the face-bashing. Yikes! I love Strawberry Shortcake, too.
