20 Jul Family Reunion
July 5th brought our biennial Roskos Family Reunion. My cousin Andy is the coordinator for the event. He does all the planning and delegation. It’s a huge job, but one that everyone in the Roskos family appreciates. We all love getting together every two years and it wouldn’t happen without Andy’s hard work. Four years ago we had the last Roskos Reunion to ever be held at the original homestead, the house where my Slovak great-grandparents raised their eight children. A few years ago, the house was sold and Lowes constructed a store where it once stood. The family was very sad to lose the house, but nothing can take away the loving memories we all have. Now we have the Reunion at my parents’ house. We get together to eat, talk, play games, and eat some more. Since we live close, I’ve never missed a Reunion. We have family members come from as far as Florida, and sometimes California and Montana.
