Five Minute Friday: Enough

Five Minute Friday: Enough

It’s Friday. Thank the Lord. It’s been so long, that The Gypsy Mama actually changed her url! Today I’m finally joining her again to write for five minutes on her weekly prompt. No editing or rewriting allowed. Click on the link to her site if you want to try it, too. The prompt this week is “Enough”.

GO

Enough already. I’m serious. When I heard the about the cancer it was bad enough. She turned 40 on a Monday and that Friday found out she had breast cancer. Happy Birthday and welcome to a new decade. And the rest of us couldn’t seem to stop crying.

But she was good. She was strong. She had assurance of healing on this earth. Peace that passes understanding. And we tried to grasp that, too–believing with her for a healthy body.

So why, now, just two short months later, after life-altering surgery . . . why is it in her liver, too? It’s not supposed to go this way. Didn’t I ask You, with other women, our hands on this dear one, didn’t I say “Don’t let her walk this path for long.” This is long enough. This is too much. She

is too young. And it’s hard to be strong.

So we’re asking for a miracle. This is enough.

STOP

Can I ask for your prayers for my dear friend and pastor who’s fighting a battle we all hope we’ll never face. Pray that, as Jesus said in John 11:4, this “sickness will not end in death. No, it happened for the glory of God so that the Son of God will receive glory from this.”

Good morning! This is my first time to do Five Minute Friday and I am a pastors wife so I will gladly pray for your pastor. It was kind of a God thing that you were the post before me. My SIL went to the doctor last week and they found a lump on her breat. The same day one of my Bible Study friends began chemo for the same thing. It seems you hear more and more about the big C word every day and it gets closer and closer to home each time.

Yes Alison I'm agreeing with you in prayer. Praying John 11:4 over your precious friend. Thank you so much for sharing this request and this scripture today.

Thank you so much for your prayers. God has a way of bringing things to our attention, doesn't He? And I will keep your sister-in-law and friend in my prayers as well.
