A little summer fun

A little summer fun

My dear friend and fellow writer, Demery Bader-Saye, tagged me in a bloggy game! Thank you, Dem! Now I get to answer some fun questions and tag a few of you.

What do you think of when you the hear the word tag?

Playing flashlight tag at a summer sleepover when I was a kid. I remember little else from that party, but flashlight tag made an impression. Also, didn’t Rachel from Friends date a guy named Tag at one point?

Do you think you’re hot?

Yes . . . kind of. At the right angle. Depending on the day.

Upload a picture or wallpaper that you’re using at the moment.

This is from our little getaway last weekend to the Hudson River Valley.

When was the last time you ate chicken?

Last Thursday, I think? I tweaked a Pampered Chef recipe—chicken and pasta with lots of garden veggies.

The song(s) you listened to recently.

Rehab, Amy Winehouse (so sad); Beautiful Day, U2

What were you thinking as you were doing this?

How totally uncool I might appear to be by answering all these questions candidly.

Do you have nicknames? What are they?

Alie—my best friend’s mom was the first to call me Alie when I was very young and others have picked it up over the years, especially my little sisters and my nieces and nephews (Aunt Alie is just shorter than Aunt Alison). My kids call me “Mommy”. Adrian usually calls me “Mama”. I really like it. But last night he called me “Mommy!” I guess he’s growing up.

Who’s listed as No. 1?

The amazing Sarah. She and I used to meet for coffee every week and discuss our goals in life. Now we haven’t met for coffee in many months . . . but her blog Look With Your Hands displays how she is now accomplishing her goals with uncommon zest.

Say something about No. 5

Angelina is a talented writer and I’m just a tad bit jealous of her stunning photography skills. You can peruse both her writing and photos on her blog Savoring Every Second.

How did you get to know No. 3?

Sarah and I were both home schooled as children. We grew up performing in our support group’s plays and attending various other social functions. We’ve reconnected via Facebook and I find her blog, Adventures in Sarahland, both entertaining and helpful.

How about No. 4?

I met Amanda and Mike in Bradley classes. Our firstborn children were snug inside our bellies and we discovered we had the very same due date! How lovely to also find out that Amanda is a talented writer. Her blog, Mmmm Mama never fails to inspire me.

Leave a message for No. 6.

Mel, I cannot wait to work out with you tonight! You’d better show up cause this class will kick your butt . . . Oh, wait, I mean, it will energize you and not intimidate you at all!

Leave a lovey dovey message for No. 2.

My dear sweet April, you have a special place in my heart, baby sister. We’ve had some great times and made many fond memories. I will never stop loving you.

Do No. 7 and No. 8 have any similarities?

They both (at different times) came into my life, became close friends with me and then up and moved across the country! I miss them dearly. Oddly, they were in the same Moms group, just not at the same time.

Tag to you, bloggy friends!!

You did a great job! I know it's hard, but your body will get used to it quickly. I won't make it to the class Friday b/c we're helping Jill and Ben load the moving truck. 🙁 But maybe Saturday morning–we'll talk.
